Just before 8 minutes, Arthur and Terry go to Arnie’s workshop to ask him about the mud in the car.

 

FRIBBINS MEETS APSIMON 1 – THEN & NOW

At 10½ minutes Fribbins first meets Apsimon here. Here Apsimon asks Fribbins if he has the committee report.

 

WALLY WEST’S CAR LOT – THEN & NOW  

MORTIMER SQUARE/FRESTON ROAD, W11 

At 10 minutes we catch the first glimpse of Wally’s Car Lot which Terry is asked to mind as part of Arthur’s deal with Wally.

This street also features in #7.1 It’s A Sorry Lorry Morrie and is a few doors away from ‘The Embassy Cafe’ that featured in #5.6 The Long Ride Back To Scratchwood and #6.2 Life In The Fast Food Lane.

 

NATHAN DRIVES TERRY TO THE GYPSY SITE – THEN & NOW  

FRESTON ROAD/BRAMLEY ROAD NR WHITCHURCH ROAD, W10 

At 23m11s Nathan takes Terry to the gypsy site to prove to him that his family have not been involved in the damage to the car lot.

 

After driving along Freston Road, at 23m50s they pass the junction with Whitchurch Road and head along the road towards Latimer Road tube station.

 

GYPSY SITE – THEN & NOW  

BUILT ON AREA NEAR ST. ANNS ROAD, W11/EDWARD WOODS ESTATE 

Vlad explains ‘Amongst the recently built housing you can spot the yellow brick hall (the now Lousie Blouin Institute) which due to its coveted listed status remains one of the dying vestiges of old Frestonia. Once described by Charles Dickens as ‘A Plague-ridden spot, scarcely equalled in its insalubrity as any other in London’ has been in various states of disrepair until recently.’

 

DE ATH’S FUNERAL DIRECTORS – THEN & NOW  

ALBION MEWS/GALENA ROAD, W6 

At 16m16s, Arthur arrives here at De Ath’s house and is soon taken to see a hearse in De Ath’s yard. Although the house has most likely been demolished, his yard is still there with the District Line situated alongside.

 

ARTHUR TEST DRIVES THE HEARSE – THEN & NOW  

STUDLAND STREET (NR REDMORE ROAD), W6 

At 20 minutes after he has agreed to buy the hearses, De Ath insists that Arthur take the principle vehicle for a test drive.

As they reach the end of Studland Street a passer-by removes his hat as a mark of respect.

 

FRIBBINS MEETS APSIMON 2 – THEN & NOW  

ROOFTOP NR FRESTON ROAD, EAST OF WEST CROSS ROUTE, VIEW OF BARD ROAD BRIDGE, W12 

At 29 minutes Fribbins meets Apsimon again to tell him about Arthur and Terry and what they are up against. Due to much redevelopment in this area it is difficult to pinpoint exactly where this is, but with the arched bridge in Bard Road visible in both shots (right hand side of the more recent shot), this location is definitely on the east side of the West Cross Route near the bridge in the Freston Road area.

 

TRACKING DOWN THE VANDALS 1/OLD PARRS HEAD PUB – THEN & NOW 

120 BLYTHE ROAD (CORNER OF MASBRO ROAD), HAMMERSMITH, W14 0HD 

After a car is set on fire at Wally’s car lot, Nathan arrives the next morning to inform Terry he has some information for him. At 39 minutes, this leads them to the Old Parrs Head Pub just along the road from Arthur’s car lot.

Masbro Road also features in #1.7 The Bengal Tiger and is just along from Blythe Road that features throughout various series of Minder.

TRACKING DOWN THE VANDALS 2/PUNCH UP – THEN & NOW 

NOW AREA B, CAR GIANT SALES, 39-40 HYTHE ROAD, NW10 6RS 

At 42m39s after information received from the landlord of the Old Parrs Head, Terry and Nathan go to this yard where the vandals are working.

 

This site has been redeveloped since Minder was filmed there but the buildings seen in the background in both shots are still there in various forms.

Hythe Road features several times in the later series of Minder and is also the location of the series 7 lockup.
