In the pre-title sequence at the start of the episode, Grantley’s three heavies accost lorry driver Stan about his wrong lorry load here.

REGGIE’S LOCKUP/BACK OF REGGIE’S ‘LOVING FEELINGS’ SHOP – THEN & NOW  

DEODAR ROAD, WANDSWORTH, NR PUTNEY BRIDGE, SW15 

Just before 12 minutes, bent copper Ashmole leaves Reggie’s place after he has been there snooping on him while Arthur is calling Reggie. This location is just a few metres away from the Winchester Club where Arthur is calling from in the same street.

 

Just after 23 minutes, Terry can also be seen driving the limo out of the same lockup doors at the back of the marital aids shop (described below).

 

REGGIE’S MARITAL AIDS SHOP ‘LOVING FEELINGS’ – THEN & NOW 

212-214 PUTNEY BRIDGE ROAD, PUTNEY, SW15 

Just before 19 minutes, Terry goes around to Reggie’s shop to collect the dirty books. Although on screen we are led to believe this is in Watford, the shop’s actual location is directly behind the Winchester Club.

While Terry drives the limo around the back, Ashmole is waiting outside and is followed by Noisy and his pals.

 

TERRY PHONES ARTHUR – THEN & NOW 

LOWER RICHMOND ROAD, PUTNEY, SW15 

At 27 minutes, Terry phones Arthur to tell him the traffic is murder and that there is no way he can stick to Arthur’s original itinerary. He does this from a phone box on Lower Richmond Road. Today the telephone box can be found on the opposite side of the road.

 In the background you can see the Duke’s Head Pub that also features in #3.2 You Need Hands.

 

TERRY COLLECTS THE BRIDE – THEN & NOW  

BALLANTINE STREET, SW18 

Just after 28 minutes after Terry collects the dirty books, he drives along Ballantine Street to collect the bride.

 

The car arrives and eventually the bride is taken to the wedding, collected from what is now the grey house shown below. When filming was taking place, Sam E secretly snook up to the car and to his surprise found that only the covers of the pornographic magazines had something on them and the insides were actually blank.

 

THE CHURCH WEDDING – THEN & NOW 

ST MARY’S CHURCH, 30 ST MARY’S ROAD, MERTON, SW19 7BP

Around 30 minutes after Terry has successfully collected the bride and her father, they head to this church near Wimbledon village.

 

TERRY & REGGIE ARE TAKEN TO GRANTLEY – THEN & NOW 

MERTON HIGH STREET/HOLMES ROAD, A238, NR SAINSBURYS/COLLIERS WOOD TUBE STATION, SW19 2HR

At 39m58s, Terry and Reggie are being taken to Grantley here where Terry tells Noisy that Reggie should really see a doctor with his injuries.

 

ARTHUR IS TAKEN TO GRANTLEY – THEN & NOW  

MERIVALE ROAD/DEODAR ROAD, SW15 

At 42m10s, when Arthur thinks he is on the way to the wedding reception, he is also taken to see Grantley in the back of the wedding car. In this scene, they turn right from Merivale Road into Deodar Road.

 

GRANTLEY’S WASTE PAPER FACTORY – THEN & NOW  

INDUSTRIAL AREA (NOW PRIORY RETAIL PARK), CHRISTCHURCH ROAD (FORMERLY STATION ROAD) NR FORTESCUE ROAD, COLLIERS WOOD, MERTON, SW19 

At 42m36s we first see Grantley’s factory – this location is now the site of the Priory Retail Park. Despite massive redevelopment, the electricity pylon is still there in the background.

 

From a different angle it is possible to see the two shops in the background on the corner of Christchurch Road and Fortescue Road.

 

From the other side of the small canal, little now remains of the final fight location, except for part of the old railings.

 

WEDDING RECEPTION – THEN & NOW 

CROSS DEEP/HOLMES ROAD, TWICKENHAM, TW1 4RB

At the end of this episode, Arthur and Terry finally make it to the wedding reception at this location, known more recently as ‘Pope’s Grotto’ and ‘The Alexander Pope’.

 

As the happy couple jump into their car, Arthur and Terry arrive in the limo, approaching from Holmes Road. The area on to which they drive the limo has now been built on but the house in the background is still clearly visible from both shots.

 

Terry then reluctantly attempts to drive the happy couple to Gatwick, only for the engine to blow, with a view of Cross Deep behind him.
