MAURICE & TERRY TAKE A TAXI AFTER THE SECOND CARD GAME – THEN & NOW
DELANCEY STREET, CAMDEN, NW1
There is a slight blooper location just after 41m10s, when Maurice & Terry leave the club after the second poker game. Initially they get into a taxi on Pratt Street. Before the driver (played by stuntman Alan Stuart) has even turned the key they magically find themselves further along the road at this location in Delancey Street. ‘The Crown’ (known more recently as ‘The Crown & Goose’) pub in Arlington Road is clearly visible in both shots (since demolished in 2014).

CAR CHASES TAXI 2 – THEN & NOW
CAMLEY STREET (FROM GOODS WAY), CAMDEN, NW1
We then catch a brief glimpse of the old gasometer in Camley Street/Goods Way through the taxi’s rear window. This area has changed dramatically since filming was done, the old St Pancras Church in the background and the gasometer’s frame are still present.
Moments later Terry takes on the taxi driver and the taxi is forced all over the road. This happens further along Camley Street after the bridge.
The final location here is very close to another location that features in #6.6 Waiting For Goddard.
CAR CHASES TAXI 3 – WASTEGROUND – THEN & NOW
GRANARY STREET, CAMDEN, NW1
The taxi is finally forced off the road on to waste ground on Granary Street, totally different in recent times.

NORMAN GIBBONS GARAGE – THEN & NOW
BLYTHE ROAD, W14
At the very end of the episode Terry and Maurice rush back to Arthur to reclaim the yellow Lotus from Arthur. In this shot they turn a corner and head for the garage, about 100m from Arthur’s first car lot.

As the taxi arrives, Arthur tells dealer Norman Gibbons (played by Clive Hornby) he believes the car should have sold for more.
